Yo… Sunny and warm, as usual this Fall!  The action has faded a bit.  The number of climbs that are being soloed is equal to the number being climbed by teams!  They are all open, waiting for you to show up!  I hear from my source, deep in the Alex, Hans camp, that the speed record attempt will be this coming Thursday.  So be here or miss another big event here in the Valley.

Yo… Indian Summer continues with its warm sunlit days and cool starlit nights.  The Tree is maxed out now and will be done within the week, hiding in plain sight for the next year or so, until we are drawn to it once again.  We’ve had a wonderful Fall climbing season, the best in recent memory.  The high drama continues on the Captain for a few weeks more and then most of the climbers will depart for other places near and far.  So enjoy these last few Reports, for the winter will soon take me away, and the long, welcomed silence, will permeate the Valley once again.

Yo… The “End of the world Day” was a nice one at the Bridge.  We had a little party to celebrate the last day of history… but alas… it didn’t happen!  So… we will be waiting for the next enlightenment, from our fundamentalist Christian friends, who like to tell the rest of us, the revealed truth, from the Bible.  However, it was the end of the world for the thousands of people who died today… so in a way, the geezer preacher making the prediction, was correct.  On to the more realistic matters of climbers on ElCap!

Yo… The good weather never ends here in Yosemite.  Still a bit warm for the season as reflected in the lack of shirts on the sunny side of the Cap today.  There are few parties on the rock, with the Nose back to being the most popular.
Today’s ElCap Report…written just for you…unique in all the world!

Yo… The weather continues to please and will do so for the foreseeable future the boys at NOAA predict.  So this it is …. The last run at the season before the winds of November blow in the cold and wet.  Replacements haven’t shown up in any numbers although there are a few teams talking the talk but we will see if they can do the walk to match it.  The SE Face is literally empty at the moment…so pick your poison!

Yo…. Yosemite … Still the place to be in the climbing world!  Exceptional weather continues to dominate the Fall season.  However, replacements are getting hard to come by these days.  You hear a few key words floating up around camp fires and in the Café… words like …“The Creek…I’m over wall climbing for a while… I need some rest…my legs hurt…East Side.. Josh…Red Rocks.. Etc, etc.   Well, let me tell you something Puke…it doesn’t get any better than it is right now in Yosemite!

Yo… The great days follow one after another, here in the Valley.  This has been a Fall unlike any for the past several years.  Climbers are getting it done in this great weather…some are leaving so they can get some rest!
Well, there is no rest for the ElCap Report as long as there are good things to report.  So let’s get right to it…

Yo… Another beautiful day here… this is what Fall is supposed to be like here in Yosemite.  Lots of action up on the Captain.  A team of three is on the wall going for a new speed record as I type these lines.  Lots of women in the teams on Golden Gate.  Sunday night so let me get right to the day in review for you…

Yo… Continued good weather is making for a great Fall climbing season on ElCap.  Still a little too warm to suit most, but high clouds kept things cool until late afternoon.  Climbing teams are getting onto the higher environs of the rock and we will be needing replacements soon.  The Salathe area is getting most of the action but the other, less traveled routes are looking good too.

Yo… Another sweet one in the books!  Still on the warm side, however, we did get some relief later in the afternoon when a high, thin layer of clouds crept in.  More action than I can relate as I was not able to cover the whole rock once again.  However, I did get some killer shots today.
