ElCap Report 5/24/12

Yo… Conditions remain perfect for climbing ElCap…. But no one is taking advantage of them. There is talk of a thunder shower tomorrow and perhaps that has kept some of the aspiring EC climbers off the rock… but since when did the threat of a thunder storm keep climbers off the rock in May thru Sept????????? Seems like timid Pukes are infesting the Valley these days. Why, I remember … back in the day… well… you know I seem to remember that we were all fearless!! Anyway….

Yo… Perfect days and nights here this spring… hasn’t been this good in several years. Good action on the Captain, but we are in need of replacements as several of the teams are topping out today and tomorrow. So saddle up that old nag of yours, not your spouse, and ride hard for the Valley. You are needed on the Captain… report immediately… that’s an order from old Capt. Tom himself. We hear of some possible sketchy weather on tap for the weekend… I…don’t… think … so!

Yo… Absolutely perfect today here in the Valley. Even the air cooperated and one might have thought it was a fall day! There is good action on the Captain these days with the King in increasing demand, but protected by those who don’t pay their dues and bail. Hope you can get out to the Valley soon and enjoy some beautiful days here.

Yo… Warmer today with less wind. Word is that the weather is in for a change this coming weekend. After three weeks of solid weather I guess we can’t complain. Not much action from the NA east. The ElCap Shuttle starts on May 25th. Then I guess the fun begins at the Bridge!

Yo… Perfect weather so far this season here in the Valley. You had better make some plans and get your sorry butts out here. The Cap is seeing some increased action but can accommodate a lot more climbers.

That’s right …. I’m talkin to you Puke… listen up… big things happening these days and you want to be here at the scene so you can talk shit when you get geezed out like I am. So be here or you will be there!

Yo… The good weather never seems to end this season. We did have some wind that cooled off the upper reaches of the Captain late this morning. Other than that it was another stellar day here in Yosemite. More action to report on today so why don’t you just forget about what is bothering you and come on out to the Valley with me to watch the senders send.

Yo… another solid day here in the Valley. See the pic below to view the weather. The action is heating up but not to a high degree yet. Several teams are heading up tomorrow so I hope to have more to write about.

Yo… Another killer day here in Yosemite. The light was not the best for photography because of pollen, heat waves, and the high angle of the sun in the sky. However, because I wanted to keep you in the action, I shot as best as I could under the conditions. The SE Face is still empty while most of the action is on the Nose and Salathe. On a more serious note… how many times have I written about the best colors to wear while climbing ElCap? That’s right Pukes, about a million!! Still… on they come with the black, brown, and tan shirts!!! Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! Help me out here sports fans! The Spring shooting conditions are bad enough without having to deal with dumpster diving outfits!

Yo… The long winter has passed and your man, ElCap-pics, is here to bring all the latest ElCap climbing news directly to you. So, listen up Cubicle Pukes!! Put down your work, clear the room, put on some cool tunes, and come with me to the Valley of your dreams, in this, the first of many Reports to follow.

The weather has been spectacular for over a week now with warm, clear days that belie the action on the Captain. Today there were 4 parties on the Cap with three of those being on the Nose. Since I have been here almost a week now, doing lens tests and setting up for the season, I will update you on some of the recent action.
