Yo… Splendid day today …. Again… right up until a really blasting and ripping thunder storm plowed through the valley around 2:30pm.  It was a real rip snorter!  I went down to the Cap around 4pm to check, with various YOSAR personnel, on the situation.   A Touron called in that someone was in trouble and waving a red flag.  We scanned the entire rock and were able to get the witness to show us where the distressed party was located.  Turned out to be Piton Pete’s Junk show being hauled up that was mistakenly identified as a distress call.  Those guys have radios and cell phones and are way too savy to call for help during a thunder storm!  It is almost 6 pm now and the weather is calm.  Some teams bailed but most are continuing upward.

Yo… Not a lot going on up on the Captain today so the report will be kind of short.  Weather a bit on the warm side with some threatening clouds back up behind the Dome but nothing much down at the Cap.  Great entertainment at the Facelift tonight… so …. Here we go.

Yo… The good weather continues to rule the Valley.  The Captain, however, is not being used to the maximum, or anything even close.  The King is still essentially empty and awaits the return of the multitudes.  I know the Facelift is more important than climbing the Cap at the moment, so you won’t get too many complaints from me.  Keep picking up that trash!  The Captain will be there next week, you can count on it.

Yo…Very nice here today…. Right up until the big thunder boomer blew through a little after 3pm today.  It came from up behind the Dome and was looking like serious business but it subsided a short time later.  The Facelift evening program is soon so I will hit it quick and hard so I can get on the move.

Yo… Splendid fall weather abounds and climbers abide.  This is it folks… all the god weather a climber could ever want.  As a result there is lots of action on the Captain.  Today is the first day of the Facelift and the masses are out in force, sweeping Yosemite clean of a years worth of junk and trash.  It is a great cause and we still need more people to help out, so head to the Visitors Center and sign up!

Yo… Wow!  Another perfectly beautiful day here in Yosemite.  The routes are getting much less attention than they deserve so come on out and get on the Cap.  Tomorrow starts the Facelift so if not on ElCap, then be doing the Facelift… that’s an order!!  Erik Sloan is back working on the Bridge a couple of days a week, so I have some time to do some roaming around to see what needs to be photographed.

Yo… Couldn’t be nicer here folks.. Now is the time to come on down.  Still good action on the Cap and the Nose is getting empty, so you Noser’s take note.  Facelift is just a few days away with great evening shows and food and drink to match!  That assumes that you are willing to get out and about picking up trash.  You know the drill!

Yo… It couldn’t have been a nicer day in Yosemite.  Fall days are here!  The Nose is still jammed, as most of the teams from yesterday chose not to bail.  Plan accordingly.  The rest of the rock is not jammed and you have you choice of anything you want… hell, Zodiac is, and has been, completely empty!  So saddle up want-a-be EC climbers and get your butts here while the getting and weather is good.

Yo… We had a very fine day here in the Ditch.  Cool breezes and comfortable temperatures have brought climbers to the rock.  Maybe the rain has taken its leave.  Lots of action up on the Big Stone today, with the King commanding the multitudes.  Hopefully with the return of good weather, and the Face Lift coming soon, there will lots of climbers in the Valley doing good things and renewing old friendships.
So listen up, Cubicle Pukes, armchair and computer “climbers,” because the Report is just a few sentences away and there is a lot to read about, including a NEW NOSE SPEED RECORD!!

Yo… Yep the Report is back!!!  Friends of YOSAR have agreed to let me use their internet connection, which should make things much better for doing the Report.  Donate something to their site, not just for me, but for all the great work they do in Yosemite!
I got here on Monday and immediately noticed huge puddles of water everywhere.  Seems like thunder storms, rather than being the usual hit and miss, have been pounding hard here for the past week.  Yesterday was the first day it didn’t rain and as I type these lines I hear thunder booming off to the east and can see clouds building over the Dome… Oh no, not another screwed up climbing season!!
The rains have cleaned off the Captain but today has seen a rush of teams heading up.  So let’s get right to the action….
