ElCap Report 5/22/10

ElCap Report 5/22/10

By Tom Evans

Yo… Cold, windy but clear here in the valley… well some puffy clouds going by too. I was down at the Bridge today for part of the morning but there is not much action on the Great Rock. I did talk to Stefan Brunner this morning about the recent accident on the Salathe. He was right there face to face with the French climber when he fell. The details are not as previously reported and thus I have changed the Report for yesterday. So if you are interested then go back and read it again. The weather is supposed to get worse in a big way tomorrow… so … we wait.  Later... it started raining around 3pm this afternoon but eased off by dark.

Today’s ElCap Report… written just for you… unique in all the world!

Zenyatta: The Swiss lads, Lars and Martin, climbed to the right side of the 9 O’clock roof last evening and were up and at it in the chill of the morning. They are moving along well enough and I have no worries for them at this time.

Nose: The relaxed team of Jim and Karla are still at it on the wall, are well stocked and I hear in no hurry. Ok… you will have tomorrow to face… hopefully the weather will not ruin your vacation!

In other news: I didn’t make the Sacherer thing yesterday but hope to get over there tonight for the social and movie. I need a shower!

Latest news on the French climber who was injured on the Salathe... he is Jean Noel Crouzat and he had an operation on his head and is doing well!  A full recovery is expected and the family appreciates all the good wishes sent his way.  A much better ending than we had thought this story might have... Great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that‘s the way it is for this the 22nd day of May, 2010.

I’m out of here!!!

Nice shots i like the angle on the G Roof!

Btw, that pitch on ZM isn't expanding, but it's awkward as hell. I bashed my knee on that flake.
