ElCap Report 10/25/07

 By Tom Evans

Yo... another killer day here...perfect weather once again...still a lot of space on the wall for anyone interested. Today’s report is brought to you by the endless stream of tourons who would just love to know how we go to the bathroom up there... geeze that one gets old!!

Today’s Report...

Zodiac. Adam is climbing out of the white circle after a day in the upper half.. looking good in his nice red shirt. Lower down... there is no one lower down at the moment... where did these people go? Did they bail? Take a vacation? Get a set of invisible clothing?

El Nino/NA Wall: The two man team that started on El Nino the other day has been on the regular route now for the entire day and were last seen going over the roof pitch late in the day..

Nose: Saw a couple of teams go over the top today... the three person one and a team of two from yesterday. The NZ team made it off late last night and were down at the bridge late today to have some good cheer. Lower on the route a team of two with just a pack passed a three person team with a woman who was leading everything in the SLs... some friends say they were planning on a faster ascent than they are doing at this time... but they do have bags and such so maybe they will make the necessary adjustments. The team of two was heading up the pitch to Eagle ledge while the ones they passed were still a pitch and a half from DT. I hear there are several parties on the early pitches... we will just have to wait to see who makes it over the trees and into my view..,

Salathe/FR did see a team on FR climb from Hollow flake to the top of the monster crack later in the day... another team, Swiss Alex said, are a little lower doing what I think is the regular route.

Aquarian: KFC and AliK Berg are doing this route in a push... started at 7am and by 4 were at the top of the 8th pitch and looking good...

In other news... quiet here today with the exception of Tourons, Tourons, Tourons. Still nice weather... one of the best late fall seasons I have seen in many years. A bit on the hazy side but warm with no wind to speak of... The fires, down south in SoCal, seem to have stalled short of my house and are being reduced by courageous firefighters and tanker/helicopter water drops. So for now I am breathing a sigh of relief... thanks for your concern friends....

So that is the way it is for this the 25th Day of October 2007... take care and come on out...
