ElCap Report 10/13/07

 By Tom Evans

Yo... The weather cleared off nicely after the rain last night... sunny and nice here today. Have to do a show tonight at the lodge so this will be brief. Todays ECR...

Surgeon General: Saw Ammon hauling his stuff to the top this morning at 10am .. topped out last night but went down to stay on his ledge as all the stuff was there... got a little damp but nothing to speak of... Just saw him at the bridge and heard his story of the climb... pretty cool... maybe we can get a TR from him on ST. He is fine and in very good spirits...

Zodiac: The two man team from yesterday was actually a salvaging operation to get Michaels stuff... he would like to get his ropes and personal stuff back... Ok Andy? Today saw a team do the first pitch.

ZM: Saw some locals fixing a couple of pitches this afternoon.. Ted and Kevin.

Mescalito: Saw T2 and the crew climbing above the Bismarck and they should be off tomorrow afternoon...

Nose: Charlie’s and another team merged and were seen at the last pitch on this route around 3pm. Lower down two teams of two split up after the night on ECT and were into the gray bands and onto the great roof late today. Lower down there was a team of 3 (what's up with so many 3 man teams this season?) in the stovelegs a couple of pitches below dolt.

Salathe... did see young Alex and old timer, John Robinson, climb to ECSpire via the Monster crack on the way to Alex freeing the entire route... via the monster variation of course..The lad looked cruiser on the Monster crack...on to the block this afternoon and then a rest day there and the headwall in two days.

Further west... didn't get down there today so..... Anyway that is all I have time for today... every party I saw was fine after the storm and no one was bailing.. Irving, your party is three above the tower and going strong...

so that's the way it is on this the 13th day of October 2007... see you later ... Tom Evans
